Fynbos landscape

Fynbos Landscape – Inspired by the raw beauty of De hoop Nature reserve! One of 4 paintings in the Witsand collection. The sand really is a pure surreal white colour and the area just bursts with biodiversity. The 4 paintings of this collection were created around a campfire in the nature reserve. An overhead camp-lantern, the light of the fire and the night sky illuminated these paintings – and I do feel that the wonder and beauty of the area and that particular moment were captured in this collection.
The rough draft for this specific painting was sketched with charcoal from a burnt stick. It was completed with archival ink and acrylic paint.
