South African Artist Daswyf with large scale painting.

Judith (DasWyf) Venter is a South African visual artist whose work weaves together history, science, and cultural identity. Holding a BSc and BSc (Hons.) in Biological and Environmental Sciences and a certification in Graphic and Advertising Design, she blends the precision of scientific observation with a bold, expressive visual language.

She is also a published author, with a book that brings the science of light and colour to life — exploring the wonder behind natural phenomena through an artistic lens.

Her practice spans the resilience of South
African landscapes and wildlife, the interplay of colour and form, and the strength and renewal of women. Many of her works incorporate elements inspired by ecology, the beauty of the natural world, and the emotional connections between people and place.

She was selected among the Top 50 in the AGAC Art Competition, recognising her distinctive style and thematic depth. Her work has been exhibited at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, the Cape Town International Convention Centre, in a globally curated exhibition via the Arts to Hearts Project, and other platforms that celebrate contemporary creativity. Her art forms part of private collections and households around the world, reflecting its broad emotional and visual appeal.

Through her art, DasWyf invites audiences to engage with both the seen and unseen — connecting through colour, texture, and narrative. Her pieces aim to inspire reflection, evoke emotion, and foster a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature, humanity, and the spaces we inhabit.
